Katia and Marielle Labèque play Ravel

Concert recording from the Konzerthaus Dortmund

The Labèque sisters are one of the most unusual piano duos in the world; their repertoire spans from classical music to contemporary pop music by Eno, Aphex Twin or Radiohead. Fans of the Basque sisters include Madonna, who - like the Labèques - has already collaborated with Kalakan, a trio also from the Basque Country that draws attention to itself with spectacular percussion.

The evening in Dortmund's Konzerthaus will be dominated by the impressionist Maurice Ravel, whose wonderfully dazzling music is an important point of reference for the Labèques. Also on the program: the Bolero in a version for two pianos - and Basque percussion!

On the program:

Maurice Ravel

"Ma mère l'oye" for piano four hands
"Rhapsodie espagnole"
"Boléro"

The program will be complemented by traditional Basque music.
